Singapore is home to some of the world’s most ambitious and innovative infrastructure projects, setting global benchmarks in urban development and engineering excellence.
As the region continues to invest heavily in sustainable and collaborative construction practices, it provides an ideal backdrop for the launch of the NEC Training & Accreditation Program.
This invite-only event, taking place on Wednesday 13 August 2025, marks a significant milestone for NEC users in the APAC region, introducing a globally recognised standard of professional development and competency to one of the world’s most progressive construction markets.
Industry innovation in NEC training
Hosted by NEC Asia Pacific and its delivery partners, the event will bring together industry leaders, training providers, and key stakeholders from across the region to celebrate and share in this important development.
The format of the day will include a knowledge-sharing session followed by an evening reception, offering valuable opportunities for learning, insight, and engagement with the NEC community in Asia.
As part of their visit, Will and Brad will also attend an NEC Mock Mediation Workshop on Thursday 14 August at Raffles Place, jointly hosted by NEC and the International Dispute Resolution Chambers (IDRC).
The session will be co-mediated by Robert Gerrard, Senior NEC Consultant and Secretary of the NEC Contracts Board, and Dr Fan Yang, NEC APAC Trainer and CEDR-accredited Mediator, and other renowned NEC practitioners and trainers role-playing the parties in the workshop.
This practical and immersive session will simulate a live mediation involving a £3.2 million dispute between four parties under an NEC4 Alliance Contract.
The mock mediation will provide attendees with a unique opportunity to observe how structured dispute resolution processes work in practice within the NEC Contract.
In addition to the role-play scenario, the session will include a deep dive into key NEC clauses, alongside discussion of the collaborative principles that underpin effective conflict resolution and project delivery under NEC contracts.
At Digital Beehive, we are committed to playing an active role in shaping the global adoption of the NEC Contract. Through close engagement with NEC users, accredited trainers, and industry bodies, we continue to advocate for better outcomes through the digitisation and simplification of NEC contract management.
Our involvement in international events such as this is a key part of that commitment.
Brad and Will’s attendance at both the launch event and mediation session reflects our wider strategic focus on international collaboration, innovation, and thought leadership in NEC practice.
It also builds on our recent engagements across the UK, South Africa and Latin America, reinforcing Digital Beehive’s commitment to supporting the global NEC community.
“It’s a key time to be part of the NEC community in Asia and Pacific,” said Brad Cahill. “The launch of the Accreditation Program in Asia is a clear signal of the increasing demand for structured, high-quality NEC learning pathways. We’re proud to support this movement and to contribute to the digital transformation of contract management.”
Will Tann added: “As a qualified NEC Project Manager and Chartered Civil Engineer, I’ve seen first-hand the value of structured collaboration and clear contractual processes. There is a marked difference on projects when there are users that have a strong understanding of NEC, which has been reinforced by the NEC accreditation scheme. The new accreditation program in Singapore will be a game-changer for how professionals are trained and empowered to deliver NEC projects in the APAC region. I’m looking forward to connecting with others in the region who are equally passionate about raising the standard of delivery through better tools, better training, and better practice.”
Brad and Will’s attendance at both the launch event and mediation session reflects our wider strategic focus on international collaboration, innovation, and thought leadership in NEC practice.
Their time in Singapore will not only strengthen our relationships in the region but also help shape the evolution of NEC delivery through knowledge exchange, practical insight, and strategic partnership.
If you are attending the launch event or will be in Singapore during this time, we would be delighted to arrange a meeting to explore how we can work together to advance NEC best practice and project delivery.
