Digital Beehive sponsors NECthon 2026 – Edition III

Written by Sarah Parsons, 15.09.26
On September 8, Digital Beehive was proud to sponsor NECthon 2026 – Edition III, bringing together an impressive group of NEC professionals to discuss the continued development of NEC Contracts® and collaborative project delivery in Peru.

For Digital Beehive, our involvement in NECthon is particularly important because Peru is a market where we are actively supporting the growth and adoption of NEC. Through our work with NEC Peru and our Contract Bee platform, we are helping organisations explore how digital tools can support NEC processes, improve visibility and consistency, and make contract management more effective. Peru’s approach to NEC also presents an exciting opportunity to embed good practice and digital working from an early stage, rather than having to overcome decades of established processes and legacy systems.

That made the depth of expertise on display at NECthon particularly encouraging.

The event brought together contractors, consultants, project managers, procurement specialists and NEC-accredited professionals, with three panels covering a broad range of technical and practical subjects.

The opening panel explored the realities of managing NEC4 ECC contracts, bringing together professionals with extensive experience across infrastructure and construction alongside those working directly with NEC in the Peruvian market.

The second panel brought an international perspective, with Robert Gerrard discussing the development of the W Clauses and NEC’s dispute resolution mechanisms. Seb Oram shared his experience of NEC and other standard forms of contract across different markets, while Ann Russo, representing the Dispute Resolution Board Foundation, considered the development of dispute resolution practices and the growing NEC movement in Peru.

The final panel focused on practical aspects of contract management, including programme management, change and risk. The discussion highlighted how structured processes can reduce subjectivity in decision-making and support greater consistency in the management of NEC and other standard forms of contract.

There was also a strong focus on the future of NEC in Peru – from its continued development within the country’s infrastructure and construction sector to the potential for its adoption and the surrounding professional community to expand across the wider region.

This is exactly why events such as NECthon matter to us. Digital adoption cannot happen in isolation. The technology needs to sit alongside knowledgeable people, strong contractual understanding and a community that is willing to share experience and develop best practice.

Peru is already demonstrating significant momentum in its NEC journey, and we are excited to continue supporting that development through our technology, our partnerships and our engagement with the growing NEC community.

Digital Beehive was delighted to support NECthon 2026, and we look forward to being part of the next stage of Peru’s NEC journey.
